I had so much fun photographing this family here in Montreal with their newborn daughter and older daughter. There was so much joy and love in the house.
We had a lot of fun playing in all areas of the house with the oldest daughter showing off her toys, snuggling in her sleeping bag while her dad read her a story and blowing bubbles outside.
Abbie had mentioned in the questionnaire that her daughter particularly loved dancing to a record of Christmas music, so even though it was June I had her put it on and we all had a mini impromptu dance party.
That’s what I love a lot about these sessions. I really get to know the family through communications and questionnaires so that I am able to really capture what they want. This not only makes the photos more valuable by actually reflecting what the client wants to see, but by pointing out favourite toys and activities it can get quieter kids to really open up.
The photo shoot was full of both fun moments and quieter moments with just the newborn.
It was such a wonderful moment for this family, welcoming another daughter, and I’m so happy they let me take photos of such a happy time in their lives.
