How to Prepare for Your Newborn Session so that you can get the photographs you want.
Here are a few tips so that you can all be at your best:
-First off, relax! I know you aren't a model and your entire session is directed.
-Choose clothes so that make you feel great. You definitely don't want to feel uncomfortable in your clothes - this will likely show in the photos. When selecting what you want your family to wear start with YOU and build everyone else's wardrobe around your clothes.
-Take a look around your house. It's likely pretty chaotic. There are only certain areas I'll ask you to tidy (and they are pretty small). It's all in my welcome emails. Don't worry about the rest.
-It's OK if baby cries/needs to be changed/needs soothing or downtime. My in-home newborn sessions are at baby's pace.
-Are there any special items you'd like to include in your session? Sometimes there's a special toy or outfit given by a relative or that has been part of the family. Now's the time to think about those things.
Honestly, it's all easy and relaxed. It's the type of photo session you want when you are tired, a bit disoriented and just want to capture what's going on with your life right now.
