I love being a Natural Studio Newborn Photographer. Why? Oh my gosh - so many reasons.
Being a Natural Studio Newborn Photographer allows for relaxed sessions. I want everyone I photograph to have a good time. I want them to look back at the photos and remember the joy for their baby - not the stress they had during their session. I am super relaxed during the session. I will photograph baby if they are awake or sleeping. We take lots of breaks for feeding and comforting. And I don't pose or prop my babies which means they can move around.
I don't have a set timeline to have photos done. Posed newborn photographers often require parents to come in when their baby is ten days or younger. This is so they are at their sleepiest and it allows them to create those posed images. A lot of my moms have the intention of coming in then, but then when they actually give birth they realize that there is no way that is going to happen. That's totally fine for me. I am not posing babies or waiting until they are asleep. Many of my images are in the parents arms. I am flexible and can wait until mom is ready.
I know what the light is like - and it's great! I can photograph in pretty much any home, but when a client books the session in the studio I know what the light will be like to get the absolute best images. It also means you don't have to clean up!
Being a Natural Studio Newborn Photographer is such a great gig and I love meeting so many families and babies.
