3 Tips to Rock your Boudoir Photoshoot by Montreal Boudoir Photographer Michelle Little

So you want a boudoir photoshoot? I know you are because so many people tell me they've always thought about doing it. As a Montreal Boudoir Photographer Michelle Little will let you know below her best advice to get the most out of your session.

3 Tips to Rock your Boudoir Photoshoot by Montreal Boudoir Photographer Michelle Little

  1. Decide what you want from your session

You probably want to do a boudoir photoshoot because you've seen photos that you have really loved. Did you know they are many many styles of boudoir photoshoots? Some are very sexy and erotic, others are sensual. Some photoshoots are dark and moody where others are playful and fun. You first have to decide what type of photos you want to create and communicate that with your photographer. I always ask my clients to create a Pinterest board. They often send it to me and apologize and say that it is all over the place. But it never is! I can always pick out patterns.

Tip: Always make sure that the photographer fits the vibe you are going for. If you want something super erotic and everything you see is soft and sensual - that photographer is probably not for you.

2. Prepare yourself in advance

What does preparation for a boudoir photoshoot look like? It means, deciding what to wear in advance and making sure your skin and hair are ready for styling. I prepare you by providing custom 1:1 wardrobe advice with a local stylist. She can help you decide what to wear or source items. I also have a detailed prep guide so you know how to prepare yourself. Lastly, the hair and makeup artist will reach out for advice on how to prep your skin.

3. Try as much as possible to relax.

This is probably harder than it sounds but there are things you can do to help you relax. First off, follow the prep and wardrobe advice! That way you aren't scrambling on the day. Little things like not wearing tight socks that leave marks or making sure you have clothes that actually fit help. You wouldn't believe the amount of people that show up to photoshoots without trying on their wardrobe! Give yourself time to reach the studio. I am always early so I will be there (plus the new studio has a cafe).

A boudoir photoshoot is really not that hard and we make sure that you feel taken care of and secure every step of the way.
