I've decided to spend this year, and maybe even from now on, doing more creative shoots and one of the areas I have really been experimenting with is Dreamy Family Photography.

What is dreamy family photography?
- Film-style editing
- Soft or blurred portions of the image
- Effects either during shooting or post editing
- Less posed subjects and more natural actions
I know this style isn't for everyone but I love doing creative shoots like this because I think you can feel so much more true emotion.
These photos were taken in a very short session in Westmount, Quebec during the blooming of the blue flowers (called Scilla). These Scilla are one of the first signs of spring in Montreal and one of the first to come up. It can still be quite cold though. This family was seriously good troopers as there was even snow during their shoot.
I have all sorts of creative shoots planned including some in-studio, some outdoors and some in-home. The whole idea is that I will be trying out new techniques like blur or use of filters or will try new edits. Perhaps the posing will be a little more un-traditional. At the end of the day, it'll be fun and hopefully beautiful too!
