Every year I reflect on what went well and what did not go well. I don't have a sounding board so a lot of these sessions are in my head during insomnia, when things are going badly, or when something makes me really excited. I'm excited to share my Photography News for 2023.
2022 was a weird year.
In 2020 and 2021 everyone stayed home, had a lot of money and decided to do a photoshoot. It was thrilling and also exhausting. I needed a break. I took the entire summer off and said no A LOT. Like most enquiries.
Now, I'm back and feel super revitalized. Here's what's going on!
Photography News for 2023
Albums
Since Chloé left as my album designer back in 2021, I've not been able to create albums for my clients. Their options are to create their own album - which is amazing but does require some self motivation or to leave the photos to die a death on some old computer. I suppose some people create their own albums too. I'm excited that I can now recommend Mindy from The Picture Project to create your photo albums. I'll also be sending your images directly to her so no need for transfers.
Studio & Furniture
We will be switching the furniture up at the studio. The light pink couch is gone, the dark green chair will be leaving soon and we'll be welcoming a white boucle chair. We are working on getting other furniture in too and fingers crossed we'll see it soon.
Pop Up Sessions
I don't like to call my mini sessions by that name because honestly there is nothing mini about them. Most families receive 40-50 images with a ton of variety. I'll be shaking them up by offering them out of the studio for the first time ever! Well, except that one time ages ago I did them at Studio Vie. I haven't settled on locations but that'll come later on.
Headshot Day Switch Up
Charlotte and I have photographed something like 150 people for headshot day. WHAT? Yup! So that we can offer something fresh, not only are we changing furniture we are also changing locations! Once a month or so we will be hosting our headshot days at a new location. Because we have to rent the studios there will be extra fees but we are working hard to come up with a solutions to keep it to a reasonable level.
All these are very exciting and I can't wait for 2023.
