Here is a recent Newborn Photography Session in Le Hampstead, Belair Suites, Westmount (Montreal). I love being able to offer my families easy to access, clean and beautiful studios to capture their beautiful newborn moments.
Very often families are not sure whether they should do their newborn shoot in-home or at the studio. Here are some pros and cons.
Newborn Photography Session in Le Hampstead
Newborn Studio Photography Pros:
- Images tend to be lighter and brighter
- Photos have an airier feel
- No need to clean
- Sessions tend to be shorter and simpler as I don't need to rearrange furniture or get the lighting right
Newborn Studio Photography Cons:
- You do need to get yourself out the door!
- If there are little ones, it is sometimes harder to keep them entertained while we take a photo of the parents and baby.
In-Home Photography Pros:
- Sessions tend to be moodier and more emotional feeling due to the light in most houses.
- You capture the story of your life right now - not only your newborn but also where your newborn's nursery, the chair where you rocked them, etc.
- No need to leave home
- You have everything you need on hand including wipes, snacks, etc.
- Sometimes easier with little ones as they can hang out in their room or with their toys while we take photos of the parents or baby.
In-Home Photography Cons:
- I can mostly shoot around clutter, but you will probably want to tidy a little
- I will move furniture, if you are not OK with that you may not want this type of shoot
- Sessions are usually a little longer as we move room to room (and I move furniture)
If you are really stuck, I suggest looking at Pinterest. What images speak to you? Are you drawn to emotional, in-home images or are more interested in simple, light and bright portraits?
All photos shown here were taken in Le Hampsted at Belair Suites in Westmount. This studio is included in your session fee. Here is a sample in-home shoot.
