Brothers & Sisters
When Sarah asked me to photograph her family I did a secret happy dance. I knew that photography four siblings, their spouses and collectively their 8 kids would be a challenge but I really felt like ‘bring it on’. This is why I love being a Montreal Family Photographer and capturing brothers & sisters.
I just adore capturing all the energy, chaos, love and emotion that comes with so many family members in such a tight knit family. Plus, I’ve known these lovely people for a long time and I knew that they would be up for anything. And they were.
Sarah stressed that it was important for me to capture each child, the siblings in each family and then the family units as well as ALL the kids and the entire family. We had fun with all those groupings and did our best to make sure all the kids were having fun and comfortable.
Then I caught all those in-between moments which for me are just the best. The little ones playing together or the big ones in the basement playing hockey. I love portraits and they are beautiful photos for the wall and grandparents. I also think that those snapshots of everyday life deserve their own say. These are the photos that I picture the kids looking at together when they are older saying things like ‘ do you remember when…?’
Plus I think it’s so fun, and important, to capture these moments as the kids grow. Won’t everyone have the best memories to look back on?
And if sitting for family photos makes you feel all nervous and awkward, I promise that I’ll give you enough direction that all those emotions will come naturally. Or you can just do your own thing too. I’m easy.
Thanks Sarah, Charles, Dom, Vince, Mia, Laurent, MJ, Oscar and kids for having me over to capture such a special family! I loved capturing these brothers & sisters.
Do you have a loving family and do you want to capture them? Please contact me and let’s talk about it. I can’t wait to hear from you!
