NDG Photographer
Being an NDG Photographer means I have the pleasure of photographing families all over this beautiful borough (remember this amazing session?) and when this wonderful ex-pat family contacted me I was so excited.
They are about to move overseas and wanted a session to remember their favourite places in their favourite neighbourhood. It’s also the place where their son was born and lived the first few months of his life. I thought it was such a sweet idea for him, and it really is going to be a beautiful part of their family history.
We had coffee at their favourite café, walked down Monkland and of course captured the famous ‘everyone picks their nose’ graffiti. It’s little everyday moments like this that are so important and so easily forgotten. I’ve been very fortunate to have lived abroad many times and I know it’s not usually the big picture stuff that makes me reminisce (the London Eye, Bangkok’s Golden Palace) but the little things – the way our flat in London had this strange freight elevator (it was an old coffee factory), the way I ate chicken and gravy for breakfast in Thailand.
Enough about me! Look at this kid!
We headed down to Girouard Park where this family hangs out a lot. It was also great because we caught a bit of the local trees and flowers which likely won’t be present where they are headed next.
I’ve photographed quite a few ex-pat families this summer who want to record their time here in Montreal. It’s always so much fun to meet them and hear about what they want to remember about their time here in Montreal as a family.
Are you an ex-pat family who wants to remember your time in Montreal? Don’t hesitate to contact me! It would even be fun to do an outdoors winter session, as I know for a lot of people this is (for better or worse) their biggest memory.
Thank-you for allowing me to create a set of memories for you to take to your next destination.
