Pretty early on in my business, I knew that a studio would be essential to the type of work I wanted to do. This is why I am a Newborn Photographer with Studio.
Why would I offer sessions in studio when I love in-home sessions so much?

-Many parents wanted a simpler, quicker session. When I shoot in your own home I often re-arrange furniture or use lighting and modifiers. This all adds time which is why my in-home sessions are longer. In the studio, I know the light and the setups making it a quicker and more efficient session.
-Simplicity is beautiful. This is exactly what the studio offers. The background is much cleaner and more minimalist than most homes which offers an uncluttered background and focuses more on the family.
-No need to tidy up. I have shown up at homes that were very cluttered and made them work. I will either put someone to work, moving things (or move them myself), shoot around or move furniture to avoid clutter. Having said that, many parents feel pressure to make sure their home is picture perfect when I arrive. Shooting in the studio avoids all that.
-Get out of the house. I had a newborn! I had two! I remember how nice it was to get out of the house - especially in the winter. Going to the studio makes it all a bit more of an experience.
-Young siblings may be on better behaviour at the studio. Sometimes when kids are in someone else's place their behaviour is better. Often parents say this is the reason they choose a studio session.
Why choose a newborn studio session with me?
-There are all TYPES of newborn studio photographers and you really need to check each photographers portfolio and decide if they are right for you. I can't even tell you how many calls I get where the parent asks how many backgrounds and props I supply. It's honestly a little dismaying that someone wouldn't even bother to look at my work before calling me. Clearly I don't do that style of photography.
